Mother’s Day
NOTE: I don’t know the circumstances as to why I did not post this on the website. Maybe it was just too personal and painful last year when I wrote it. Or maybe I had doctor’s appointments to take my husband to. Whatever the reason, I feel compelled to add this post to my blog now. Enjoy my memories and God bless. Have a great day!! Mother's Day Mother’s Day has always been a day I have looked forward to for as long as I can remember. As a child growing up in a large family, we did not have...
Website Updates and Dreary Weather
Does everyone have the “mullygrubs” on dreary days, or is it just me? I’m sitting here looking out the window on a drizzling rain, cold temperature of 41 degrees, and missing my Daddy. Grief is something that never goes away and 42 years sometimes feels just like yesterday. It was on this day 42 years ago that we said our final earthly good-byes to Daddy but I know that sometime soon he and Mama will welcome me with open arms in Heaven. Maybe I should explain the “mullygrubs” term I used. While I was living with my aunt in Washington,...
Making face masks
It has been a long time since I have made a post on the blog. Life sure has a way of intervening with the best laid plans. So much has happened in the last 5 years that it is unbelievable. Ok, folks. July is more than half over and wouldn't you know it, I get the urge to make afghans! It's hot in mid-July in Arkansas! Why do I want to cover myself with an afghan? But when I get the urge to create, I better go with it and just create. I was looking around the other day and realized I am swamped with yarn. Not whole skeins, just a lot of odds and ends. Some of them are current colors while others are old enough to be called vintage (I guess). Some of it is from the 1970's...
Creating a new pot holder/hot pad
Sometimes I get the urge to create something totally different from what I have been working on. Yesterday was one of those days. After getting my husband off to work at 5:30 a.m., I usually work on my projects. I have an afghan in the works but it is getting too hot to work on, especially in the middle of the day. I wanted something small and easy to carry around with me (as I go to the doctor or when I go fishing with my husband) so a pot holder seemed just the perfect item to work on. After...
